My Data Journey
I started my journey as a Software/Business Intelligence Developer at Open Box Software in Cape Town. It was here that I honed my skills in Microsoft BI Development, SQL Development, and Data Engineering. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, from building ETL/ELT applications for the property industry to modernizing data platforms using Azure technologies.

In 2022, my wife and I embarked on a new adventure, relocating to New Zealand. This move opened doors to new opportunities, leading me to join Theta as a Data Engineer. As I immersed myself in this new role, I quickly transitioned into the Data Architecture space. At Theta, I've continued to design and implement data integration solutions using Azure technologies like Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, Azure SQL, Data Lake, and Databricks.

Transitioning to Theta in Auckland was a pivotal moment for me. Here, I've had the opportunity to explore the dynamic realm of Azure technologies further. Each project has been a learning experience, a puzzle to solve. But what truly excites me is not just the technology but the transformative impact it can have on businesses and their data capabilities.

Over the years, I've come to appreciate the power of direct client communication. Understanding their challenges, unpacking their data requirements, and crafting solutions that resonate with their vision has been incredibly rewarding.
